Worship of Goddess Sheetala, believed to protect devotees from smallpox, measles, and other diseases. Also known as Basoda. Observed on Chaitra Krishna Ashtami (Purnimanta), 8 days after Holi. Only cold food cooked the previous day is offered and consumed — no fire is lit in the kitchen.
